The World Bank will provide 116 million UAH for Health Care System of Poltava region next year
A loan agreement concluded between Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank) has come into force this year. Project goal is to reform and improve the Health Care System. Poltava region is a part of the project. In Poltava region it aims primarily to control blood pressure of 40-60 years old individuals.
As the chief of the Health Care Department of Poltava Regional State Administration Viktor Lysak said during the board meeting, about 500 thousand inhabitants of the region got into this risk category:
– For our region and the country as a whole is important to change the approach system that would focus on prevention, and in the future – provide high quality care. We plan to create a clear pathway and the register of patients. Head of Poltava Regional State Administration Valeriy Golovko issued an order to set up subprojects management, resolved the issue of consultants stationing, prepared requirements specification.
According to the press service of Poltava Regional State Administration, the project will enable to increase the level of patients’ satisfaction, reduce the mortality rate of cardiovascular diseases, in particular, to reduce the number of acute myocardial infarctions, update the material and technical base of hospitals.
As a part of the project five of the nine consultants who would work according to international standards were competitively selected. Later in Poltava will be announced a tender according to the international rules to acquire the necessary equipment and place it in the hospitals of the region.
In 2016 the World Bank will allocate 116 million UAH for the project. The funds from the local budget won’t be spent.
Deputy Head of Poltava Regional State Administration Oleg Pruhlo noted that the project is very important because prevention of cardiovascular diseases would allow to save up to 60% of the treatment costs:
– Today we need to create conditions to place the equipment, so we won’t be ashamed to deliver it to the medical stations, – said Oleg Pruhlo.
